Shimmering Soft Silver Rare Ceil Chapman Cocktail Dress with Asymetrical Pleated Bodice Trim and Ruffled Skirt circa 1940s
This. Is. Stunning.
A very rare (so rare, I can't find one image from a magazine, an ad, a fashion show, stage, pattern or other vintage dealer anything even LIKE this beauty!) late 1940s Ceil Chapman soft, muted silver taffeta cocktail dress.
The bodice! Strapless with boned seams. Adorned with a scrumptious finely pleated, sculpted ruffle that covers left bust and angles up over right- dramatic!
The skirt, then. A solid overlay of taffeta frames rows of pleated ruffles in front, falling in back to just above the bottom ruffle. Full, rustly and FLIRTY!
Of course the Ceil Chapman label is inside.
The dress does have a few little spots, all shown. Very insignificant.
