Rare Violet Vauxhall Glass Pin with Portrait Addition circa Late 1800s
Regular price $130.00
Late 1800s violet Vauxhall glass horseshoe wreath pin wrapped and wired onto a Victorian porcelain portrait pin depicting a Tyrolean boy. Vauxhall glass dates back to the 1700s and is so named after the area in London where the mirror was made in creating the stones. A very rare piece in design and color! This was wired to the portrait pin at some time in the past (likely late 1800s), and could be taken apart if desired. I love the way it looks assembled! A large statement piece, it measures 2 1/4" long, 2 1/2" wide. One teeny round glass missing, one tip missing and one cracked...barely of note.
