"Dearest Bob:
I received your note to-day and was glad to hear you had had a nice Christmas- and that you had returned safely.
I am very glad, dear, you liked the picture- and, as for me, I am still thrilled with my shawl. You couldn't have chosen a more beautiful one in hours and I am pleased that your thirty minutes made you decide as you did. I just came home from R__W's. She has had a cold and felt blue so I went over to cheer her up. We had lots of fun talking!
I am stepping out this evening with an old flame of mine.
Fred left this morning and I have been up since six- can you imagine that?
Now, that I know what Mrs L said tell me what your reply was- will ya'??
I am looking forward to to-morrow's letter, dear Bobby. Be good and bye-bye.
Your Sweetheart,
Jean"

"Dearest Bob:
It really isn't long until our next holiday- just think, Friday you will be here. You do intend to come Friday at 9:20 don't you? Daddy is letting me have the car that night and if you would really like to have me meet you I will!
Poor M___ H, I hope her fat friend did not forsake her this time did he?
Went shopping to-day- and collected from the Killian Co. Really I think, even after paying my bills that I will have a little left- somewhat of a surprise!
I think H____'s gift lovely- and I knew you were going to get it. Why doesn't H come back a few days earlier then he could see you!
We don't go back to classes until Tuesday- hope you decide to spend Monday here- what say?
Well bye-bye until Friday-
Your Sweetheart,
Jean"
