The Letters- Oct 6, 1926 from Bob to Jean

"Jean Dearest:

Your letters! You can't imagine how glad I was to get them- they came together this morning. Somehow I didn't mind the dreariness nor the rain after I read them.

My hostess Sunday was an Alpha Xi from Drake. Of course we talked sorority and naturally Alpha Xi was lauded to the skies. I did have a wonderful dinner and spent the whole day there.

Your T.L.? I really should wait another time but I shan't. And, really, the beauty of it is in the source. I told L___ I intended to visit C.R. as often as I could to see the fellows etc, and he said "Isn't there a stronger attraction than the fraternity?" I admitted it and he said "I really believe the other attraction is worth the trip". I think so, too!

All I live for is the 23rd. After that it will be for the next time- and there will be a next time- won't there, sweetheart? And one time when I won't have to leave alone?? Please, dearest, won't there be that time?

Life without love is incomplete- and love is a misery unless the one you love loves you.

I want you, I love you, I adore you-

                                                           Always-

                                                                      Bob

I don't seem to have the letters that he refers to from Jean, sadly. But I think Bob is getting antsy to hear Jean say she loves him!
